I am a Social Worker dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through culturally-informed and trauma-sensitive approaches. My work focuses on helping people overcome systemic barriers and personal challenges to realize their full potential.

I hold a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, where I also pursued a minor in International Relations to deepen my understanding of global policy and advocacy. My undergraduate degree in Cultural Anthropology from Hofstra University laid the foundation for my cross-cultural awareness and commitment to inclusive practices. 

Throughout my career, I have developed expertise in trauma-informed care, mental health advocacy, and community-based support strategies. I have worked with diverse populations, including youth, women, men, and marginalized groups, ensuring that each individual’s unique background and experience is respected and valued. My advocacy spans local and international issues, including gender equity, human rights, and social inclusion.

In addition to clinical and community work, I have been selected as a Youth Ambassador through various organizations engaged in United Nations initiatives, where I contributed to dialogues around human rights and sustainable development. These experiences have enriched my global perspective and strengthened my ability to navigate complex social systems.

I am committed to fostering growth and leadership in emerging professionals and change-makers, guiding them with empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based strategies. I also host the podcast “In Conversation with Shabieko Ivy,” where I explore topics centered on purpose, faith in God, and the cultural nuances that shape our identities and communities. 

Having witnessed firsthand the systemic gaps that limit access to resources and opportunities, I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome these barriers by providing tailored counseling, advocacy, and support. My goal is to empower each person to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, confidence, and hope.
