About Me

I am a Social Worker dedicated to empowering individuals and helping them overcome challenges to achieve their full potential.

I hold a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, where I also pursued a minor in International Relations to strengthen my understanding of global policy and advocacy. My undergraduate degree in Cultural Anthropology from Hofstra University provided a foundation in cross-cultural awareness and analytical thinking.

Throughout my career, I have developed expertise in trauma-informed care, mental health advocacy, and community-based support strategies. I have worked with a wide range of populations, including youth, women, men, and underserved communities, ensuring that each individual’s needs and experiences are recognized and valued. My advocacy spans local and international issues, including human rights and access to essential services.

In addition to clinical and community work, I have served as a Youth Ambassador with organizations involved in United Nations initiatives, contributing to discussions on human rights, sustainable development, and social policy. These experiences broadened my perspective and reinforced my commitment to creating practical solutions for complex challenges.

I am also dedicated to mentoring emerging professionals and change-makers, guiding them with empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based strategies. I host the podcast “In Conversation with Shabieko Ivy,” where I explore topics related to purpose, faith in God, and the cultural influences that shape our identities and communities.

Having witnessed firsthand the gaps that limit access to resources and opportunities, I am committed to helping individuals overcome challenges through tailored counseling, advocacy, and support. My goal is to empower each person to navigate life’s obstacles with resilience, confidence, and hope.
